More Me Time | 2017.5 Mazda 6 Review

Special thanks to Mazda for allowing me to test drive the Mazda 6 Grand Touring for a week in exchange for my honest review. As always, all opinions (and shenanigans) belong to me.

I spend basically ALL my free time with my kids. Like a…. “cant find an app on my phone that isn’t animated or ends with “Kids” because I’m always passing my phone over to the 3 year old” amount of time. Or a… “I sneak and watch all my shows at work because when I’m home I’m only watching Disney Junior” amount of time. So one of my for this year is to spend more time doing things that I love that doesn’t involve my kids. Don’t get me wrong I love them, but i need some time to decompress occasionally without Ryan’s ToysReview ringing in my background.

When I got the opportunity to review the Mazda 6 Grand Touring I immediately fell in love with the interior, and then immediately panicked because it has the most amazing “parchment leather” interior and these little boys are a hot MESS. But I knew I was about to enjoy my time with the car even if I enjoyed it alone (which I did for the most part). The weather was disrespectful for most of the week but every time I got into the Mazda 6 I forgot about what was going on outside.

The inside of the Mazda 6 really captivated me. From the infotainment system, to the 11 BOSE surround sound speakers, I never lacked comfort while inside (lets not even talk about the heated seats and steering wheel cause spring definitely hasn’t sprung around these parts). But I think the thing that fascinated me the most with the Mazda 6 is the focus on safety. The Active Driving Display clearly displays your speed, lane departure, and even has street sign technology so you can be aware of your surroundings without ever looking away from the road.

And while the interior is amazing and beautiful they definitely don’t slack on exterior. Mazda’s KODO: Soul of Motion philosophy definitely rings true in their design of the Mazda 6. The exterior comes equipped with some awesome safety features as well that you can check out here

I definitely enjoyed having time to myself and exploring in the Mazda 6 Grand Touring. I’m not a stay at home mom but I definitely stay home A LOT and I’m learning how to separate myself without feeling the guilt. Having a cute car to drive definitely made this week easier. 😉

What are some of your favorite things to do when you’re not “momming”? How do you decompress and spend me time? Don’t forget to leave your thoughts and comments below. XOXO

So We’re Just NOT Going to Talk About the Little Black Girl in the Roseanne Reboot?

 Source: ABC

Source: ABC

We’ve gotten a couple sneak peaks of the show and there have been soooo many #QTNA. Dans alive? Where’s David? How the heck are they casting both Becky’s? How are they going to address the whole “all of this has been made up” thing that they just ended the series with? Do we REALLY need to mention Trump (ok maybe that’s just my question)?

But there’s also a lot buzz around some of the new characters. If you do a quick search for new characters in the reboot you’ll find many a post about Mark, Darlene and David’s 9 year old son that dresses like a girl. Countless articles address the gender nonconforming Conner kid and I think it’s going to be interesting to see how his character unfolds in the season. But if you haven’t seen any pictures of the upcoming revival and just caught the release of the new opening sequence the other day you were probably just as surprised as I was.

D.J., Roseanne and Dan’s son also has a child in the upcoming series. Mary is played by Jayden Rey and the teenaged, Nick @ Nite loving insomniac in me couldn’t help but feel excited when I saw her beautiful brown face bouncing around the Conner table in the opening sequence. I’m honestly sad that she hasn’t gotten as much buzz as other newcomers because I think the introduction of a black girl to the Conner cast is EXTREME for the show. I clearly remember the episode way way back in the day where D.J. wanted to quit his school play because he didn’t want to kiss his black classmate Gina. The episode widely addressed prejudice & of course I remember it clearly.

I’ll admit, prior to finding out about Jayden Rey’s role I wasn’t all that excited for the reboot because I just don’t have time to give anything Trump-esque my energy but I’m interested to see how Mary is going to fit into the family. I’m praying praying praying hard that Roseanne doesn’t disappoint me and little Jayden gets her shine on. Let’s keep our fingers crossed.

How do you feel about the reboot? Vaguely interested?

Roseanne returns to TV March 27th at 8 pm est. on ABC!

It’s Been Over A Week & I’m STILL Waiting to See ‘The Greatest Showman’ AGAIN! | Movie Review

The Greatest Showman (20th Century Fox)

The Greatest Showman (20th Century Fox)

I feel like as a mom, I find myself completely oblivious when it comes to things that aren’t Disney, Youtube or toy related. So when James told me he wanted to see The Greatest Showman first of all, I had no idea what the eff he was talking about. And admittedly even after watching the trailer I was still confused like ehhhhh a movie about the circus?? I guess…. *scratches head*

I’m pretty sure a good amount of time passed between the initial conversation we had about the movie and last weekend when we finally got to go out sans children. So when I excitedly asked what movie we should see and this was the option again, I was confused LOL. I check some reviews and got even more skeptical because if you read the reviews before seeing this movie they are SOOOOO mixed. But, I’m definitely an optimist and now I was even more curious about the movie, so I was interested to see how my few childless hours were about to play out.

I don’t think it’s a secret to anyone that PT Barnum was a pretty horrible man. So if your’e going into the movie looking for an accurate depiction of his character and historical events, don’t bother. The movie itself is LOOSELY based on Barnum’s idea of the circus and focuses strongly on the ideas of acceptance, following your dreams and unapologetically being yourself (‘This is Me’). Nothing in the entire hour and 45 minutes was shocking or unpredictable but I still was entertained throughout the entire movie. And if you’re a music lover?!?! Let’s just say RJ didnt go with us to the movies but he can probably sing the entire soundtrack in order. The songs were amazing!

I dont remember the last time I left a movie and felt THAT excited. If you go into the movie looking to be entertained you definitely will not leave disappointed. And I don’t know if it’s just me getting older, but I definitely feel more emotion when I watch TV/movies now. There were points of the movie were I felt happy, sad, disappointed, angry, romanced and the emotions just never stopped. The casting, acting, music were just ALL on point and I am literally ready to go back to the movies and see this movie a time or two more. If anyone wants to watch my kids for me, you can find me there!

Have you seen The Greatest Showman? Are you skeptical because of PT Barnum’s History? Leave your thoughts in the comments below! xoxo

Leveling Up My Mom Status | Mazda CX-9 Review

Thank you so much to Mazda for allowing us to drive the 2018 Mazda CX-9 free of charge in exchange for an honest review. As always, all opinions expressed belong to me.

Thank you so much to Mazda for allowing us to drive the 2018 Mazda CX-9 free of charge in exchange for an honest review. As always, all opinions expressed belong to me.

You’re not really a mom if someone doesn’t confirm it once they get into your car. Such was the case when I had a chance to review the Mazda CX-9 during the holidays. First of all, if you’ve been around for any amount of time then you’d know I have a LOVE for SUVs. The first 3 row SUV I drove was the and I continue to love that car TO THIS DAY!

So when I was given the chance by Mazda to review the CX-9, and I realized it was their 3 row SUV I couldn’t contain the excitement. A few days into having the car, on a trip to the store my friend was like “Wow this car is nice. It’s REALLY a mom car.” It could’ve been the view (below) that she saw once she was inside because the car had AMPLE space to store all our Christmas takeaways, but if the CX-9 is #Momcar goals then I’ll take it. *shrugs*

This car has to be what Mom dreams are made of. Gone are the days of the huge minivan, hello BOSE surround system, heated leather premium nappa leather (in the second row too!), and a completely driver focused experience. SKY-ACTIV and I-ACTIV technology provide some of the best safety features in vehicles of this class and put my obsessive mom worries to ease while driving.

With most 3 row SUVs the downfall of having the third row is that you lose cargo space. That is definitely not the case with the CX-9. While we’re a family of 4, my extended family is HUGE and we made alot of stops over the holidays, we never were lacking trunk space for all the gifts we gave/received. Even with the third row up, the trunk was spacious and has the perfect amount of cargo space for….. Target hauls? 🙂

I definitely leveled up my mom status while driving this car and it comes really close to my love for the Sorento. If this is a perk of being a “real mom” then, ill take it! What kind of car do you drive? Are you looking to “level up” any time soon?

The 2018 Mazda CX-9 Grand Touring AWD starts at $40,470. For more information/spec check out Mazda’s official site here

28 Goals I Have for 2018 | #thegreat28

Habakkuk 2:2 “And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.”

I am a complete believer in speaking things into existence. I truly believe you have to put things into the atmosphere for them to manifest. I guess I’m not up to date because I’ve never made a vision board even though it’s something I definitely have on my to-do list but I do have a list of goals that I want to accomplish this year?

Why 28?

It’s really didn’t take much thought of how many things I wanted to add to my ideal goal list. 28 goals seems like a lot but some are simpler than others and really when you span it out to 365 days it’s pretty much nothing… 2 or so goals a month? Easy. I also turn 28 next month and coupled with the year being 2018 I knew this was my year for #thegreat28.

I can’t wait to bring my goals to life and begin to manifest even bigger dreams.  I’m so ready to live a life greater than I can even imagine. Check out my list below.

What are your goals for this year? Have you made a list or vision board? Leave your comments below.
