James Earl Jones Returns as Mufasa in Disney’s 2019 Live Action Remake of #TheLionKing

Word spread like WILDFIRE after Beyonce confirmed on Wednesday that a Lion King remake was indeed happening and she would star as Nala in the 2019 film. Of course they BeyHive went crazy and Childish fans everywhere are HYPE to see Donald Glover star as Simba.

But can we take a minute to appreciate the legend James Earl Jones? Jones will be reprising his role from the 1994 animated film as Simba’s father, Mufasa. How freaking dope is that?!?! As big Disney Junior fans in here we watch The Lion Guard daily and its always too different for me to hear Mufasa in someone else’s voice. I couldn’t imagine my kids growing up, seeing this new movie (RJ will be almost 5 when it comes out!) and knowing Mufasa’s voice as someone else. I am super super excited about this and LOVED that he is returning to his role. I can’t wait to see how Jon Favreau (director of “The Jungle Book,” Marvel Studios’ “Iron Man”) plays this out.

The Lion King roars into theaters everywhere on July 19th 2019!

How are you feeling about a live action remake of the Lion King? Here for it? Let me know in the comments. xoxo

21+?? You Definitely Need to Have Your Next Party at Bowlmor Chelsea Piers

I was invited to attend a Private Holiday Preview Party at Bowlmor @ Chelsea Piers as a guest. All opinions expressed as always, belong to me. =)

It is a rarity that I get out of the house without children so when Shaye invited me and Saisha to go with her to Bowlmor’s private preview party I probably got dressed like 2 weeks in advance. HAHA. Seriously, I was excited to have a girls night and get out minus chasing a toddler or awkward breastfeeding aerobics in public. I had SO much fun and I’m convinced everyone needs to host a party there AT LEAST once. I’m about to tell you why.

The food is SO GOOD.

No seriously. If you know me you know I LOVE to eat and Bowlmor didn’t disappoint with the typical pizza and soda options. I think I messaged Saisha about the food the DAY BEFORE. They have a variety of different menu options and I was excited that the flyer said GOURMET food. You can choose from BBQ picnic style, ice cream and dessert bars, Italian food and soooo much more. Ever seen that Insider video of the Behemoth Burger??

Yup, thats at Bowlmor.

You can do more than just bowl.

Because I’m horrible at bowling. But they have laser tag, an arcade, a bar, I’m pretty sure I saw pool and my favorite was the gravity ropes course. I had ALL the liquid courage that night and even though I had a mini heart attack once I got up there it was A LOT of fun. Also, we lost our game of laser tag but everyone was in such a good mood we didn’t take the loss TOO hard. Well, Shaye kinda did HAHA.

Even though you’re playing like a kid, the atmosphere is definite adult vibes.

They have private rooms with cute couches, multiple bars and an all around cozy and adult feel. It was way different than any bowling setting I’ve ever been in. I definitely was expecting the bright light and sticky floor experience that I remember having in one of my elementary school birthday parties. NOTHING like that. Seriously, laid back. And they play really good music.

If you suck at bowling like I do, you’ll be having too much fun to even care.

Seriously, the scores were sad. But I had so much fun eating and laughing that I didn’t even care. Everyone from the staff to the other guests were just there for a good time and the vibes were amazing all night. I definitely want to go back, maybe for a date night?

Interested yet? Make sure you check out Shaye’s post over on ViciousQuipster if you need more convincing. You definitely need to plan your next party at Bowlmor and if you do make sure you use code SWEETGIFT17 to get a $20 gift card for each guest and free dessert for your entire party! Have you been to Bowlmor? Are you excited to go? Let me know what you think in the comments. xoxo

I LOVE Harry Potter But I’ll NEVER Go To Harry Potter Festival in Chestnull Hill

And when I say never I legit mean probably… NEVER.

You see this little human…

He decided (literally…. he wasn’t due for weeks) he wanted to be born on October 23rd.

Chestnut Hill’s annual Harry Potter festival falls on October 20th and 21st this year. Like every year, it’s on his birthday weekend and I just feel like I’d be a bad mom to let my fandom interfere with celebrating his life.

But since I can’t go, do you wanna know what goes down?

Fans of all ages can attend the festival on October 20th & 21st for two days of film screenings, scavenger hunts & more!

Some of the festival highlights include:

The Hogwarts Express and Opening Ceremony
Each year, the Hogwarts Express (a.k.a. SEPTA’s Chestnut Hill West regional rail line), has departed from Jefferson Station and making all regular stops to Chestnut Hill West. Also onboard? Harry Potter, Hermione, Ron and Dumbledore look-alikes to greet guests.

Quidditch Tournament
One of the main festival events is the 8th Annual Philadelphia Brotherly Love Cup Quidditch Tournament at Chestnut Hill College.

The tournament runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.. Admission to the tournament is completely free.

I wanna go, I wanna go, I wanna gooooooo! *stomps and slams the bathroom door*

For more info or to check out other events in the area make sure to check out Visit Philly. And maybe tell them to change the dates next year just for me? LOL

The Misadventures of the Rocket Ship Car

Thanks to Kia for providing the 2017 Kia Sportage for my family to review. All opinions expressed are my own, all shenanigans are solely RJ and Zayn’s.

When RJ was a baby he HATED car rides. When I say hated I mean I once had to sing the theme song to Little Einsteins over and over for 30 minutes straight while I drove home from a visit to GiGi’s house because that was the only thing that stopped him from screaming bloody murder. I prayed and prayed that Zayn wouldn’t go through that phase but alas, it’s arrived. You’d think that trying out a cute new SUV would make him appreciate our car rides a little more but nah, he’s ungrateful like that (joking! lol). RJ however, enjoyed our time in what he randomly called one day “the Rocket Ship Car” (Little Eintsteins stuck with him) and I like our car rides too until all hell breaks loose.

Don’t let the cute little sleeping face in the carseat fool you…. Zayn definitely has levels to the car ride turn up. A typical ride in the car where he wakes up usually goes something like this……..

*15 minutes into the smooth car ride… sleeping baby starts waking up… quiet grunting.. soft whine.. panic ensues from everyone else in the car on the inside but we can’t let him detect it.. this is LEVEL 1*

Me *In my ever so calm and probably too chipper voice* – “Hey Zayn, we’re almost there man. You were asleep? Everyone’s here with you!”

Zayn’s Inner Monologue – “WTF?! When did we get in here? Why can’t I see my brother? Mommy? Is that you? Where’s daddy??? Panic! PANNNNIIIIIIIC!

*Crying Starts…. LEVEL 2*

Me – “Hey man! You’re alright! We’re gonna get out soon.” *awkward arm reach to try to put the paci back in and pray it saves us all….. for a compact SUV this car is spacious*

Zayn – “I don’t want it! Stop! Where are you?!”

*Dodges pacifier… irritation builds…. cries get a little louder… LEVEL 3*

Me – You’re ok man! We’re getting out in 2 minutes! You’re alright! Wanna look out the window?? *tries rolling down window… opens sunroof*

The panoramic sun roof in the Kia Sportage is AMAZING! RJ loved it and this trick totally worked when he was a baby. This new kid however, doesn't give up so easily.

RJ *screaming from his seat because thats totally helpful* – Zayn! Be Ky-it! Be Ky-it! Be Ky-it!

Zayn – Oh GOD!!!!!!! Why am I still in here?!?! Why is he yelling at me??? Is that wind??? It’s cold! Help! HEEEELLLLLLLLLP!

*By now… we’ve reached the final level of turn up… shrieking ensues…. coughs… choking on saliva… the infant pulls out all the stops…. LEVEL 4*

My Inner Monologue (because at this stage trying to console is a moot point) – Oh God…. are we there yet? Why is the light red? Im about to cry too! It’s cool. I got this. Mother Mary, full of grace….. wait I’m not Catholic what am I talking about? Please let’s just get there.

At this point RJ usually has his fingers stuck in his ears or he’s fallen asleep trying to get his brother to be quiet… Zayn is in the back cursing us all out in full infant and I’m on the verge of my own tears and literally blasting the AC with the cooling seat on as high as possible so I don’t melt away from a panic sweat lmao.

This phase only lasted a few weeks with RJ so I’m hoping his brother grants us some grace and gets used to being in the car because we go out A LOT. Either way, the Kia Sportage was a great car to deal with some screaming in, RJ liked pushing buttons just as much as he did in the Sorento and I enjoyed the expanded cargo space for my random Target splurge sans children (because every trip to Target results in a random splurge doesn’t it?).

How did your baby like car rides? Any tips or tricks to help us out? Leave some in the comments below!
